The lot fell on Tanzania this
year to win the Big Brother
Africa competition with the
representative Idris Sultan
welcoming the big news .
“I have a lot of debt to pay
back to Africa and so I will find
a way to plough back the prize
money that I got into the continent ,” he said.
Sultan will now live the life of a rich sultan with USD 300 000 as his new bank
balance. He emerged winner over Nigeria ’ s Tayo Faniran who was tipped to
take it all . Sultan had an incredible time in the 63 days spent on the show and
he becomes the first Tanzanian to win the prestigious show .
“I don ’t want to think that all this is happening because I am special . I know
everyone in the house had a chance to win it and they deserved it too. It just
so happened that they picked me and I am eternally grateful for that,” the
humble contestant .
Emerging tops from a competition that had 25 other housemates vying for the
same prize meant a lot to Sultan. He confessed right after show was officially
over that he was tired and welcomed the epilogue of the show.
